Llangoed Hall sits in the Brecon countryside and it's one of those locations that feels like it belongs in another world entirely. The grand exterior with its period architecture and sweeping grounds, gives a maternity session a sense of scale and elegance that's hard to find anywhere else in South Wales.
Shooting in autumn
We photographed here in autumn and the timing made the location. The colours around the exterior of the building were extraordinary, deep browns and reds against the stonework, giving every image a warmth that felt entirely of the season. If you're drawn to that rich, autumnal palette for your own session, Llangoed Hall in the right months is hard to beat.
That said, a location with this much architectural detail and surrounding parkland is likely to offer something different in every season, so if autumn colour isn't what you're after, it's worth having a conversation about timing based on the look you want.

Getting permission
Llangoed Hall is a working venue, so a session here isn't as simple as turning up. You'll need to contact them ahead of time to arrange permission before any shoot can go ahead. We found them accommodating once we did but this is a step to plan for early, not something to leave until closer to your session date.
Is it right for you
If you're after a maternity session with a real sense of grandeur, somewhere that feels considered and a little different from the coastal locations South Wales is best known for, Llangoed Hall is well worth the extra planning it takes to get there.
