Abigail Lewis Photography is a maternity and newborn photography studio based in South Wales, capturing journeys into parenthood across the UK and around the world.
Founded by sisters Abigail and Kristie, the studio is known for offering an experience that goes far beyond photography, crafting meaningful artwork that celebrates the beauty and strength of motherhood.
Abigail is the photographer behind the lens, known for her calm presence and ability to capture emotion with elegance. Kristie is the Creative Director, focused on making sure your journey is smooth, thoughtful, and full of intention.
Together, they also share their knowledge and behind the scenes insights through their YouTube channel and podcast, Mother, Baby & Us, helping fellow photographers build fulfilling businesses and master their craft. They regularly speak at industry events and host hands on workshops across the UK.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should we book our photoshoot?
Typically, most of our clients enquire about a photography session with us between 12-20 weeks pregnant. This gives us plenty of time to plan your pregnancy announcement, schedule your maternity session, and reserve a date for your newborn photoshoot. Maternity sessions are usually held when you’re 28–32 weeks pregnant (or earlier if you’re travelling abroad for your shoot). Newborn photography sessions are best scheduled when your baby is 5–14 days old, capturing those dreamy, sleepy poses before they start to grow and change.
What if my baby has already arrived?
Still get in touch! Babies rarely arrive exactly on schedule, and our diary often has last minute openings when little ones come earlier or later than expected. If we’re fully booked, we also keep a waiting list, so if a space becomes available, we’ll do our best to accommodate your newborn photography session. As specialist newborn photographers in South Wales, we aim to capture your baby’s earliest days with care and artistry, even if their arrival takes you by surprise.
Can my partner and older children be included in the photoshoot?
Yes, we love including partners and siblings in both maternity and newborn photography sessions. These connections are such an important part of your story, and capturing them creates meaningful, heartfelt images you’ll treasure forever.
During your pre session consultation, we’ll discuss exactly who you’d like to be part of the shoot, whether that’s your partner, older children, or even grandparents, so we can plan a session that reflects your family perfectly. This ensures the experience feels relaxed and personal while giving you beautifully coordinated images that celebrate your growing family.
How do I book a session with Abigail Lewis Photography
To book your maternity or newborn photography session, simply fill out our Contact Us form. We’ll then give you a call to chat through your vision, answer any questions, provide all the information you need, and help you choose the perfect date.
To secure your booking, we require a 50% non refundable deposit of the session fee. This ensures your date is reserved exclusively for you. The remaining balance is due one week before your session.
Please note: the session fee covers the time, expertise, and planning for your photography experience, but does not include prints, wall art, or products, these are purchased separately after your session. Your booking is not confirmed until the deposit is received, so we recommend securing your date as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
